The integration layer: The fifth layer is the final project of Chapter 16 which integrates all the fixes of the fourth layer into the receiver structure of the third layer to create a fully functional digital receiver. The well-fabricated receiver is robust to distortions such as those caused by noise, multipath interference, timing inaccuracies, and clock mismatches.
