Sea of Moments

This moment cannot stay
Like all before it slips away
Into the river that we call time
That flows to the place we call memory

Winds over images, waves over time
A single instant, passing by
There ís a sea of moments, it gathers and swells
The sea of moments we call memory

Then some moments sink to the deep of the sea
Never to rise, never to be heard or seen
But upon the surface some memories lie
Stirred by the currents of river times flow
And when the sea and the river meet and are one
Some moments linger caught in the foam
