About the Time Base

The time base dial (number 4) specifies the rate at which time moves through the sample. A value of "1" means real time. A value of "0.5" means one-half real time: the sample will last for twice as long as normal. A value of "2" means twice real time: the sample will last half as long. This can speed up or slow down vibrato and changes the speed at which a sound progresses through its envelope, but does not effect the pitch of the output (except in extreme settings).
